Sweet Life Series - part 5
Anytime someone calls to order a cake at the bakery, one of the first questions we ask is: how many people do you want it to feed?
When you're baking up your sweet life, you also need to answer this same question. Do you want to have a small life? Or do you want your life, your purpose and dreams to have a big impact? And when I say big impact, I don't mean a big empire or fame or millions. Maybe it will include that, but when I say the word "big" I mean big and important by God's definition; living out your full potential, making the most of every single ingredient He's given you. The scale and physical size of each person's dreams and callings will look different. Some people who fulfill their greatest potential are never known. But also, just because someone is well-known doesn't mean they're necessarily fulfilling their God-given potential and living out their purpose. (Go back and catch up if you missed the previous posts!)
To achieve your sweet life, you want to make the biggest batch possible.

Luke 6:38: Give and it will be given to you...For with the standard of measurement you use...it will be measured to you in return.
This is where I bring in the spiritual principle of giving. To find and live out your sweet life, giving and being of service is a game-changer. If you want that big impact by God's definition, sow generously. Find ways to be a cheerful giver and bless others as you're building and baking. It can seem counterproductive to give of your time, energy and resources when you really need those for yourself, but this spiritual principle is meant to actually multiply what you have and take your further. It doesn't always make sense, but it somehow works every single time supernaturally. Just remember, the measuring cup you use is what will determine the amount you get back. So if you use a tiny little teaspoon, you won't get back much. But if you give even when it causes you to sacrifice, you'll see that blessing come back to you in ways you never imagined.
Now remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to others] will also reap generously [and be blessed]. (2 Corinthians 9:6, but I highly recommend reading the entire chapter in amplified version! It is so rich and delicious!)
MSG version says Remember: A stingy planter gets a stingy crop. I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give...God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you're ready for anything and everything...
Giving is one of my favorite aspects and keys to finding your sweet life. The joy that comes from it is un-matched and it's amazing how the more you give, the more God gives you back.
