Founder & Owner
Cara is the founder and owner of Sweet. She’s dreamed of owning her own bakery since childhood and feels so grateful to be living her dream! When she’s not working, she’s sipping wine with her Book Club friends, doing school pickups and enjoying her three precious kids.
Leslyn manages the front of our store and is the head of Customer Service. She loves people and is passionate about food made with love and healthy ingredients. She's a wife and mother/empty-nester of 3 children. When you come in, you'll be greeted with a warm smile and as many details about our products as you want!
Richard is currently the lead baker in our kitchen. He earned his Culinary Arts degree from Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute in 2003 and has been sharpening his skills ever since. He is in charge of our French Macarons and all your other favorites in our bakery!
Social Media Manager
Kaylynda graduated from West Texas A&M University with a marketing degree and brings three decades of marketing experience. She loves to hike, volunteer with a local non-profit (Panhandle Adult Rebuilding Center) and travels with a global missionary team (Watts of Love.) Her greatest joy is being a wife, mother & gigi.
In October 2020, Cara Linn purchased the existing bakery known as Uptown Sweet Shoppe, started in 2018 by Betty Smith. After being a stay-at-home-mom for 10 years, Cara was ready to jump back into the bakery business. She chose to keep the name at first, but revamped the entire space and menu, hoping to keep some familiarity with the current customer base. After operating as Uptown Sweet Shoppe for 14 months and growing a new and steady following, she decided it was time to bring in a fresh name that's "hers'" and fits better into where she wants to take the business.

Our cakes are baked from scratch, made with organic high quality ingredients and lots of love! They are moist and rich, but not too sweet.
I recommend Cara's Chocolate, Pink Velvet, and Lemon-Vanilla; three of my very own perfected recipes.
Our cupcake icing is different than any other bakery. You know the sweet heavy frosting that most people scrape off? Yeah, we don't use that here. Our Swiss Meringue Buttercream is a labor of love! It's silky smooth and again, not too sweet.
You can always ask for a sample when you come in! We know you'll love it.
Our French Macarons are delightfully delicious! We are always making them fresh and quite honestly, have a hard time keeping up with demand! A little crispy and a little chewy, everyone loves this special treat.
With the exception of a few flavors, ours' are always gluten-free. My personal favorites are Birthday Cake and Pistachio!
We bake our cookies fresh every day! We always have 8-12 flavors in our case and they're absolutely scrumptious. My personal favorites are S'mores and Salted Dark Chocolate, but the Cowboy Cookie is our #1 Top Seller!
