Heat up your Oven - 6B

Last week we talked about prayer and how it sets the environment and helps bring your sweet life into reality.  (Go back and catch up if you missed it!) This week, we're piggy-backing on that and discussing how worship goes along with this.

We probably all have something different come to mind when hearing the word worship based on our past experiences.  There are so many ways to talk about and break down worship and the true meaning, but it doesn't need to be complicated!  Just like I simply described prayer in the last post as continuous conversations with God, worship is continuous adoration and reverence for Him (and this is expressed in different ways.)

Having good character, working in excellence, being generous, loving others well, serving in church, having patience & kindness are just a handful of ways we can express our adoration and reverence for God, but one of my favorite ways to worship and that I have seen make a huge difference in setting the atmosphere for living the sweet life is through music and song!

All through Revelation, we read about the angels and living creatures standing around God's throne crying "Holy Holy Holy".

As created beings, it's the proper response to looking up at something so magnificent.  He is beyond our comprehension, so what I love about worship is, it shifts my focus from myself and my problems, which become a speck of dust when compared to the Magnificent One.  When I turn on worship music or sing songs adoring Him, the environment and atmosphere around changes into something rich, warm and sweet.  It's like fresh bread or chocolate cake baking in the oven.

Instead of going straight to your to-do list each day, try sitting for a moment and adoring the one who holds your sweet life in His hands.  He wants you to have everything your heart desires, the secret is first just delighting in Him.

Here's to finding your sweet life! The recipe is waiting, you just have to go and make it.
